It used to be considered by many to be unpatriotic to steal an American flag. But that is what happened at a residence in Peachtree City.
Peachtree City police officers on Aug. 30 responded to a residence where a flag was stolen off the flag pole attached to the exterior wall of the garage.
The residence was located on Star Spangled Lane off MacDuff Parkway.
In other incidents, two golf carts at residences on Ridgelake Drive and Flat Creek Court, both off Flat Creek Road in Peachtree City, were reported stolen on Aug. 31, as was a golf cart charger stolen from another residence on Ridgelake Drive, according to police reports.
Police reports in Peachtree City also noted vandalism at Picnic Park on Willowbend Road on Sept. 1. The officer reported observing damage to the restrooms at the park and taped them off until the damage could be repaired.
Unincorporated Fayette County had two recent reports of entering autos. One of those, reported on Aug. 27, came from a residence on Morning Creek Court, off Ga. Highway 54 East.
Sheriff Barry Babb said the owner of the unlocked vehicle said it was rummaged but nothing of value was stolen.
The second, reported on Aug. 31, on Bentley Way off Kenwood Road, resulted in the theft of a handgun from a vehicle that showed no signs of forced entry, Babb said, adding that deputies were told the theft occurred sometime between Aug. 29-31.
