Looking for something to do with the family this weekend? Why not catch one of the many holiday productions in the area.
Carla’s Dance Factory and Georgia Youth Ballet will again present their production of “A Christmas Spectacular” and “The Nutcracker, Land of Sweets” in collaboration with Sandy Creek High School’s Choral and Drama Departments. It is a show designed with the entire family in mind and truly has something for everyone.
The first act, a Radio City style review, will feature members of the SCHS chorus and the CDF company dancers. Traditional and contemporary holiday tunes will be be brought to life through dance and song. The “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers”, made famous by the Rockettes, and the snow scene from The Nutcracker are highlights.
“The Nutcracker, Land of Sweets,” complete with the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy and Princess Petite Four and her Cavalier, is the second half of the program. Clara is entertained by Russian, Chinese, and Spanish dancers, along with Mother Ginger and her Gingersnaps. The Waltz of the Flowers is the prelude to the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince’s brilliant tarantella and the Pas de Deux of Petite Four and her Cavalier.
Performances are Friday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 17 at 2:30 p.m. at Patriot Hall on the SCHS campus, Jenkins Rd., Tyrone.

This Christmas season, The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone invites you to step back in time as it presents the regional premiere of “The Andrews Sisters: Christmas of Swing.” More than just a musical review of 1940s swing music, this family-friendly show is a hilarious, endearing, and at times poignant homage to America’s greatest generation.
The show takes place on Christmas Eve, 1944, in a New York City rehearsal hall. As the War rages on, and with the Allied forces still several months away from a victory in Europe, Patty, Maxene, and LaVerne Andrews come together for one final rehearsal of their famed USO concert.

A Company of Friends Productions, under the direction of Tammy Barton, past Artistic Director of the former Fayette-Coweta Family Theatre, has joined forces with City Tap in Peachtree City to bring a Dinner Theatre Event to the community this holiday season. Audiences will delight to an original version of Dickens’ classic tale “A Christmas Carol” written by Barton and Gayann Truelove that is full of powerful images, sentimental moments, classic Christmas Carols and even a few laughs along the way. Join 25 talented local adults, teens and youths as they bring this timeles production to life during this yuletide season.
Ticket prices include the 90-minute performance and a full traditional Christmas Feast of Tossed Salad, Hot Rolls, Roast Turkey and Stuffing, Buttered Asparagus, Dessert and Tea, Coffee or Ice Water. There will also be a Cash Bar available before the show and at intermission for our guests 21 years and older. Performances will be at the intimate venue of City Tap at 273 Commerce Drive in Peachtree City in the Westpark Walk Shopping Center at the corner of Hwy. 74 and Hwy. 54.
Seating is very limited and making reservations is a MUST in order to be able to prepare enough meals for all our guests. Ticket prices are $24 general and $22 for seniors 60+ and students under 12 years of age. No payment is required at time of reservation, but we do ask, that if you need to cancel your reservations, that you contact the theatre at least 24 hours prior to the show in order to cancel your dinner preparation or you will be responsible for a $10 meal fee.

Newnan Community Theare Company presents the popular children’s play” The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets for the play alone are $8 for children, $12 for students and seniors, and $14 for adults. There is a breakfast and photo with Santa at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are just $15 per person and include breakfast, treats, a photo with Santa, and one admission to the 11:00 show. (Photos will be available to take home after the 11 a.m. performance.)

Grown-ups looking for something more adult can check out the comedy “The Eight: Reindeer Monologues” at Newnan Community Theatre. Late night performances are at 10:30 p.m. (after “A Christmas Carol”) on December 16, and 17. For those who are in bed by 10:30 p.m., there are shows at 5 p.m. on December 17 and 18.
