The Christian City Teen Board is hosting the second annual Race for Safe Place on June 12, 2021. The 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk event will take place on the beautiful 500-acre Christian City campus in south Fulton County. Registration begins at 8 am and the race starts at 9:30 am.

Proceeds benefit Christian City Children & Family Programs, including the Safe Place Runaway & Homeless Youth Program, which provides trusted help and a place of safety for runaway and homeless youth who are on the streets and in danger of human trafficking.

“We’ve designed a fun, flat, 5K PR course through the Christian City campus along with a 1-mile run/walk course,” said Teen Board President, Mary Elizabeth Kirkpatrick. “Every runner will receive a cool t-shirt and there are great prizes for each age division,” she said. A pair of running shoes (value up to $150) will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, compliments of Dragonfly Running Company.

You can help make the event a success by becoming a sponsor, registering to run or walk, and/or making a donation at https://christiancity.org/raceforsafeplace/. All ages and abilities are welcome!

About Safe Place Runaway & Homeless Youth Program

Proceeds from the Race for Safe Place will benefit Christian City Children & Family Programs, with a focus on raising awareness for the Safe Place Runaway and Homeless Youth Program. Christian City is the local agency for the National Safe Place program, with staff available 24/7. Working in partnership with QuikTrip gas stations, metro Atlanta YMCAs, some fire and police stations in Fulton, Douglas, Carroll, Fayette, Coweta, DeKalb, and Cobb counties, youth in crisis can call or text for help and a member of the Christian City staff will respond immediately to bring youth to safety while finding a long-term solution for their care.
