Edward Carl Stoner, Master Chief Petty Officer, Ret, Nov. 15, 2011, a little after 9 p.m. We lost a great man.
He was a great father, grandfather, friend and husband. He was loved by all. He had so much kindness and compassion, he opened his heart up to so many, and he considers everyone to be family. We were blessed to have such a great man in our lives. We will miss you and you will be forever in our hearts. Find that northern star, sail straight and true and on ’til dawn. Goodbye for now Ole’ Salt.
After 29 years Mr. Stoner retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy and was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Mr. Stoner was preceded in death by a son William Edward Stoner. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Cathy Stoner of Fayetteville; daughters Francis Stoneman, Sally Bogdon, Suzann “Sue” Stoner, Pat Roman, Colleen Baez, Sharron Motlagh; son Craig Tyacke; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Fayetteville Christian Church with Pastor Andrew Higel officiating.
