PTC candidates mostly self-funded

All three candidates running for Peachtree City Council have sought little fiscal support from residents.

Although each has put in their own money, George Dienhart was the only one to report contributions from others.

Both Post 1 candidates have elected to use just their own money instead. Imker has donated to his own campaign for the $180 qualifying fee and $25 for a “vendor table.” Likewise, Allen has donated $396.90 to his own campaign to cover qualifying fee and also purchase campaign signs.

Allen lists a total of $451.77 in loans on his Oct. 25 report, but it’s not clear if those are loans he made to himself.

Allen also listed on his Sept. 30 report that he received a total of $149 in contributions from persons who gave less than $100 each.

Georgia law actually allows candidates to withhold the names of persons who donate less than $101, but Dienhart revealed the names on his September report.

According to his campaign finance report, Dienhart reported $25 donations from James Ryan of 401 Vardon Way, a self employed consultant, and Peter Moody of 105 Sweetbriar Street, listed as being retired.

Dienhart’s Oct. 25 report, which has a one-week grace period, was not yet posted on the state campaign finance website as of the time of this writing Oct. 28.
