Man charged with child molestations from 2003, 2004

An Alabama man has been charged by Fayetteville police with two counts of child molestation based on incidents that surfaced from the early 2000s.

Orlando M. Colon, 45, of Huntsville, Ala., was charged with two counts of child molestation, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett said police on Aug. 3 took the report of alleged child molestations that involved two female victims. The alleged child molestations occurred sometime between 2003 and 2004.

One of the alleged victims in the case was the stepdaughter of the suspect. The other alleged victim was a friend of the family. Both victims are now in their 20’s, Burdett said.

Burdett said the alleged crimes occurred in Fayetteville.

The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigative Division for further investigation. As part of the investigation, the Criminal Investigative Division is working with another agency to solve the case, Burdett added.
