Crime in Fayette: 2 entering autos, a burglary and a golf cart theft

The period of Nov. 3-7 across Fayette County came with two entering autos, a burglary and a golf cart theft.

In Fayetteville, a Nov.  3 entering auto incident occurred at a bank at Banks Crossing on Ga. Highway North.

Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett said the front passenger window was busted and a checkbook and Bose headphones were removed from the front floorboard.

A second entering auto occurred at Banks Crossing on Nov. 7 with no forced entry. Items stolen included a backpack containing a laptop and charger and a wallet containing a driver’s license, two credit cards, the victim’s Social Security card and the Security Cards of the victim’s two children, Burdett said.

In Tyrone, a burglary was reported on Nov. 7 at an unoccupied residence on Sutton Court. Tyrone Police Department spokesman Philip Nelson said though there was no forced entry, the house was entered through the carport door and a refrigerator, washer and dryer stolen.

In Peachtree City, officers on Nov. 4 responded to an apartment complex on Stevens Entry and were told that the property’s white Yamaha golf cart was missing, according to police reports.

Also on Nov. 4, a business on Ga. Highway 54 East reported that a middle-aged female with missing teeth entered the store and broke a $40 glass bird bath, apparently for no apparent reason, according to police reports.
