Mary Virginia McDaniel Roper, age 92 of Fayetteville

Mrs. Mary Virginia McDaniel Roper “Jennie”, age 92 of Fayetteville, formally of Smyrna and Carrollton died Wednesday April 22, 2011.

Mrs. Roper was a Veteran of W.W.II – Naval Reserve W.A.V.E.S. She was a former music teacher and Legal Secretary with City Service. She was an Art student of the University of West Georgia at the age of 70. Mrs. Roper was a graduate of the University of South Carolina AB with a Major in music.

Mrs. Roper is preceded in death by John Robert Roper Sr. (spouse for 45 years), and John Robert Roper Jr. (Bob).

Survivors include (2) Daughters Faith Roper Smith and Bobby Joe Smith of Peachtree City, GA, and Cherry Roper Caldwell and Gordon Caldwell Jr. of Franklin, GA; (1) Son, Phillip M. Roper and wife Bobbette of Smyrna, GA; (7) Grandsons; (1) Granddaughter; (6) Great Grandchildren, and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Friday April 29, 2011 in the Castellaw Funeral Home Jonquil Chapel. Burial will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.

The Family will receive friends 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday April 28, 2011 at Castellaw Funeral Home.
