The owner of a 4-wheeler had his vehicle stolen in north Fayette County on June 3 after a man taking it for a test drive did not return.
The incident occurred on June 3 and was reported by a man at a Stillbrook Way residence off Ga. Highway 279.
Sheriff Barry Babb said a deputy on patrol after 11 p.m. was flagged down by a man who said his Yamaha 4-wheeler had been stolen by an unknown man.
The man, who resides out of state, told deputies he had advertised the sale on Facebook and had been contacted by a potential buyer, and agreed to meet the man at a Stillbrook Way residence.
While waiting at the location, the owner was approached by a black male, approximately 6’1” in height and wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, and asked if he could take the Yamaha for a test drive. The owner agreed, and the man rode away and did not return, said Babb.
A June 3 incident at Braelinn Elementary School in Peachtree City referencing criminal damage had officers finding that a hood vent on the roof above the kitchen had been removed overnight. Entry was not made into the school.
School officials provided officers with a photo of the suspect’s vehicle, according to Peachtree City police reports.
Also in Peachtree City, an auto was entered at a business on Dividend Drive on June 4. Items stolen included cash and a satellite receiver after was made through an unsecured side window, Peachtree City police said.
