Mr. William “Dutch” Zeitschel, 85, of Fayetteville, GA, passed away on March 16, 2011.

Mr. Zeitschel was a very generous, loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Niblack, where he was a Quartermaster 3rd class, and was awarded the Pacific Theater Award. Following his Navy career he worked for 39 years at Armco Steel as a Millwright. He always had a joke to tell, loved to travel and he enjoyed collecting coins and stamps.

Mr. Zeitschel is preceded in death by his wife Doris McCoy Zeitschel and two daughters Cheryl and Valerie Zeitschel.

He is survived by his daughter Karen McGowan and her husband Tom of Fayetteville; son Richard Zeitschel and his wife Vicki of New Market, TN; grandchildren, Rebecca Hogan and her husband Michael, Kendra Zeitschel, Matthew McGowan, Caitlin McGowan, and Tim McGowan; sisters, Frieda Roberts and Pauleen Harris.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Pastor Stephen Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 to 5:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Juvenile Diabetes Association (www.jdrf.org) in honor of William “Dutch” Zeitschel.
