The conceptual site plan for the Bridge Park commercial development on Ga. Highway 74 North near Aberdeen Parkway was denied at the Aug. 27 meeting of the Peachtree City Planning Commission.

The vote to deny the conceptual site plan was 4-1, with Commissioner Lisa Curtis opposed.

The property is situated between the highway and the Hilton Garden Inn.

Applicant Chad Williams at the previous meeting requested a 20-foot buffer reduction, which would result in a 40-foot buffer along Hwy. 74. Most on the commission on Aug. 27 said they could not support the requested reduction.

Some on the commission also expressed concerns about the number of parking spaces that exceeded city requirements.

Planned for the retail buildings were McAllister’s Deli, a second restaurant and other commercial businesses.

Also as a result of a lengthy discussion and commission request at the previous meeting, the applicant at the Aug. 27 meeting submitted a conceptual landscape plan, a cross-section of the required tree-save/landscape buffer along Hwy. 74 and a tree survey showing the proposed grading area, planning staff said, adding that the applicant has provided a tree survey showing that most of the existing trees will not be affected by the proposed grading.
