Janie B. Braden, 86, of Fayetteville passed away August 3, 2018. She was born in Pleasant Ridge, Ala. on January 3, 1932 to William and Alice Holliman.
Janie proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. She was a member of the Fayette Presbyterian Church.
Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Charles Glenn Braden, who passed away on June 9, 1987; son, Glenn Braden; grandson, Josh Lesniak; and her parents.
Janie is survived by her daughter, Donna Louise Lesniak (Dave); son, Kenneth Scott Braden (Wendy); grandchildren, Brandi Brandon (Bobby), Nicholas Weathington, Christy Braden, Brittany Braden, Dylan Braden, and Jacob Lesniak; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Brandon and Courtney Brandon.
Funeral services was held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Rev. Emily Goins Smith officiating. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park, with military honors. Pallbearers include Ken Braden, Dylan Braden, Nick Weathington, Bobby Brandon, Dave Lesniak, and Tommy McDonald. The family received friends on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
