Betty Carol Overton Jimmerson, 78, of Fayetteville, Georgia, left this world for her heavenly home on January 29, 2018 after fighting colon cancer for over 20 months.

Betty was born on April 22, 1939 and grew up in Calhoun, Georgia and graduated from Calhoun High School.  In 1957, Betty married Donald Pass and proceeded to have a daughter, Jan, and two sons, Frank and Doug.  She was a people person who enjoyed the friendship of many.  Betty had a contagious laugh that soon had others laughing too.  She loved life and made friends easily wherever she happened to be.  After rearing her three children, she enjoyed working at Tri-City S&L, the Fayette County Tax and Tag Department, and serving as a volunteer and officer in the Auxiliary at the Fayette Community Hospital and Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Betty met David Jimmerson on a church bus trip to Cape Cod in September 2008 after being a widow for 5 years.  They fell in love, married in May 2009 and lived a love story for the rest of her life.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, step mother, and step-grandmother.  Betty was a long time member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church before joining David as a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and the Welcome Sunday School Class.  Betty also helped with the Promise Class which ministers to the mentally challenged.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Mae Greene Overton; her father, Marcus B. Overton; her first husband of 45 years, Donald Pass; and her daughter-in-law, Carol Pass.  She is survived by her husband, David Jimmerson; her brother, Marcus Lee Overton of San Diego; her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Dean Boike of Matthews, NC; her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Beverly Pass of Fayetteville; her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Susan Pass of Helena, Ala.; stepdaughter, Joanna Latham (Steve) of Fayetteville; stepson, “Jimmy” Jimmerson (Carla) of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Shaina Barlow (Chris), Cassidy Boike, Jaclyn Pass Bell (Devin), Rachel Pass, Lucas Pass, Frances { ass, Rebekah Pass, Nathan { ass, and Mary Pass; step-grandchildren, Brent and Eric Latham, Matthew, Driskill, and Grace Jimmerson; great-grandchildren, Silas and Mary Selwyn Barlow, Ezra, Tucker, and Carolina Joy Bell; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church, 133 Flat Creek Trail, Fayetteville, Ga.  Visitation will be from 10:00-10:50 a.m. prior to the service and a fellowship will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
