Gerald E. Carr, Jr., 89, of Peachtree City, passed away January 2, 2018.
Captain Jerry was born on April 10, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, but spent most of his life in Peachtree City, Georgia. He served his country in World War II and Korea in the United States Marine Corp. He joined Delta Airlines in 1956 and retired in 1988. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City, Georgia.
Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jackie Saunders Carr of Peachtree City, Georgia. He is survived by his sons, Michael J. (Kristie) Carr of Indian Rocks Beach, FL and Christopher B. (Kari) Carr of Cornelius, N.C.; daughter, Patricia (Ken) Bragg of Burleson, TX; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Bertolini.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City with Pastor Billy Rowe officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to dementia research or a local hospice of your choice.
