Coweta County-based nonprofit Family Patterns Matter President Linda Kirkpatrick recently acknowledged students at Liberty Tech Charter School in Brooks for their work to address and prevent bullying.

Kirkpatrick said Liberty Tech students began an “Ambassadors 4 Kids” club that has a mission to prevent and stop bullying and other forms of abuse. Family Patterns Matter is the sponsor for the Liberty Tech club that includes students in grades 5-8 in its ranks.
“It is an exciting national youth club dedicated to keeping America’s kids safe,” said Kirkpatrick. “The youth who join are ambassadors in their school and community, and are committed to helping kids realize they have a voice. It is about empowering youth to stand up and speak out against violence, abuse and bullying. It empowers and motivates children to show kindness, respect and compassion to other students, teachers and members of their community.”
Kirkpatrick said that, as a community of individuals, “It is up to each of us to make sure each child feels safe and secure at home, school and out in public.”
Kirkpatrick said one of the school’s projects was the “Fill the Stockings” for children who would not have a visit from Santa.
“Our hope is to have it expand into several schools in our community,” said Kirkpatrick.
