Hope Lemyra Watkins Woodruff of Decatur, Ga., 87, went to be with The Lord on Monday, December 18, 2017.

Hope was born in Newberry, S.C. and moved to Thomaston, then Barnsville, Georgia with her family. Hope attended Upson-Lee High School and Gordon College.  She worked at Davidson’s Department Store, taught kindergarten at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church in Decatur, and was the Kindergarten Director at Briarlake Baptist Church.  Additionally, she worked for Mori Luggage and Gifts in Atlanta for almost 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ross and Pearl Watkins, and her husband William (Bill) David Woodruff, Sr. She is survived by her sons, David “Woody” Woodruff, Jr. and Tim Woodruff and his wife, Suzanne; grandchildren, Aimee and Erik Schneider, Sara and Kyle Henggeler, Ross and MC Woodruff, and Kathryn and Caleb Hullett; great-grandchildren, Tanksley and Amelia; sister, Joyce Watkins Key and her husband,Morgan; and all of her nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved so much.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1995 Clairmont Road, Decatur, Ga. 30033, with Rev. Rhys Stenner officiating. She will lie in state from 12 – 1 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, Ga. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 5 – 8  p.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga.
