Marie “Reesie” McKenzie Torres of Peachtree City passed away August 10, 2017 after a lengthy illness. She was at home surrounded by her family.
Marie’s greatest joy was her family and especially the happy times they shared on Tybee Island. She loved to spend time playing the piano, singing, working on her needlepoint, gardening and playing cards.
Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City on August 12th and a celebration of her life followed at her home.
Marie was born in Savannah to Herbert and Marie McKenzie on October 3, 1938. She attended Blessed Sacrament School, St. Vincent’s Academy and The University of Georgia.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Paul Torres, Sr. and her children; Karen Casey, Teresa (Chris) McPherson, Al (Carol) Casey, and Jan (Paul) Krzykwa. She is also survived by her brother Herbert (Joan) McKenzie, her grandchildren Katie Keppler, Meg (Rob) Heusel, Matt Keppler, Teghan Casey, Bo Meeks, John Casey, Gabe Krzykwa, Noah Krzykwa and Michael Casey.
There will be a future memorial service held for Marie in Savannah followed by her burial at Bonaventure Cemetery.
