Whitewater band wins second Grand Championship

The Wildcat Marching Band had an outstanding performance last Saturday, Oct. 30 at the “LaFayette Marching Classic” at Fayette County High School. In Prelims the band placed 1st in the Class 4A division, receiving all superior ratings for band, percussion, and color guard. The color guard and percussion also placed placed 1st in Class.

The top 8 scoring bands, regardless of class, advanced to the finals that evening. Whitewater drew the coveted last performance time, 9 p.m, and when it was all said and done they were named “Grand Champions.” Whitewater also received Sweepstakes Awards for “Best Visual”, “Best Effect” and “Best Music” for the evening.

This is the first time the Wildcat Marching Band as ever won two Grand Championships in one season. They have worked since July to achieve this honor and the parents and boosters could not be more proud of them and all their hard work.
