George Henry Gray, Sr. peacefully passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, at the age of 79 at Pruitthealth in Greenville, Ga.
Originally from Decherd, Tenn., George and Mary Ellen spent many wonderful years in Haddonfield, N. J. before retiring to Peachtree City, Ga. George was a stockbroker at several major firms during the course of his career. George has a passion for tennis, enjoyed playing bridge and a love for motorcycles. George was a member of the Gideon’s. He enjoyed his Sunday school classes at Flat Creek Baptist Church and weekly bible studies when he resided at Arbor Terrace in Peachtree City. George was a proud graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Ala.
He is preceded in death by his loving son, George Henry Gray Jr. (Chip.)
George is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen Gray; grandson, Nathan Gray; daughter, in law, Cathie Gray; sister, Jewel Gray-Wright; niece, Merri Gayle Wright; nephew, Michael Light, and close family friends Kathleen and Todd Chambler, their sons, Connor and Cameron and long time family friend Debbie Grote.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Interment will follow the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 prior to the service.
