Roxanna Austin, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010.
Ms. Austin was born July 5, 1919 in Kenwood, GA and dedicated her life to teach others both as an educator and as a librarian. She was an active member of 2nd Ponce de Leon Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Leone Austin; sisters, Sarah McLeod and Katherine Gardner; brother Charles Austin, Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary S. Austin of Fayetteville; nieces and nephews, Rod and Trish McLeod of Savannah, Jean and Ed Smith of Climax, NC, Kathy Shephard of McLeansville, NC, Gary and Susan Austin of Fayetteville, Janet and Roy Nemmers of Sedalia, CO; several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, prior to the service.
