Private First Class Amy Elizabeth Layton, 21, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 resulting from a motor vehicle accident.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Heritage at Bass United Methodist Church, 4062 Vineville Ave., Macon, Ga. Burial will be private. Reverend Rex Odom will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. in the church.

Born in Macon, she was a private first class in the U.S. Army Reserve.

She is survived by her mother, Deborah Elaine Crawford of Scaly Mountain, North Carolina; father, Gordon “Skip” Layton of Locust Grove, Ga; brother, Petty Officer First Class Adam Layton of Pearl Harbor, HI; fiancé, Adam Gault of Peachtree City, Ga; grandparents, Gordon A. Layton Sr. of Warner Robins, Ga.; Joe and Lillian Mullis of Macon, Ga. Other survivors include numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
