Dollie Mae (Riddle) Boyd, 84, passed away Monday October 31, 2016.
She was born and raised in Sanford, N.C. on January 30, 1932 and has lived all over the world as a military wife, finally settling in Peachtree City, Ga. After over 20 years with NCR, she retired to spend time with her husband, children, and multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dot is remembered by all who knew her as a genuinely kind and loving woman and a saint and angel here on earth who was strong and steadfast in her faith with a true desire to share the word and love of God to all she came in contact with.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund W. Boyd, Jr.; her parents, Oded Dewie Riddle and Sarah Catherine Hall Riddle; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Potter (Boyd); son, Harold David Boyd; brother, Robie Riddle; and sisters, Bertie Marie Poindexter (Riddle) and Joyce Chorney (Riddle).
She is survived by her children, Jerry and Renee Boyd of Senoia; Cathy and Frank Penner of Sharpsburg, Steven Boyd of Peachtree City; her siblings, Charlie Riddle, Shelba Jean Rackley, Edwin Riddle, and Nell Solomon, all of North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, with two more scheduled to arrive next spring.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Fayette Family Church, 1729 Highway 54, Fayetteville, with Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Interment will follow the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening, November 4, 2016 at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City.
