Crowds gathered near the site of the Whitewater Paddle Trail during the grand opening of The Ridge Nature Area in Fayetteville on Aug. 13 to throw their ducks into the creek for the inaugural Duck Race, a fundraiser for 308-acre nature area off Burch Road.
