Who better to hand out American flags July 4 than a veteran?

Continuing their long-running tradition at the Peachtree City 4th of July Parade, the five military veterans groups of Fayette County have come together to again distribute thousands of small American flags along the parade route.

“The flags are American-made and represent a financial commitment by our veterans to this patriotic community event,” according to a statement.

Representing their units are Pat Kelly, American Legion Post 50; Ernie Menet, Marine Corps League Det 1325; Liz Geiger, Legion Auxiliary Unit 50; Arnie Geiger, VFW Post 9949; Mavis Compagno, American Legion Post 105; Ron Stubbs, VFW Post 3650; and Sarah Courtney, Legion Auxiliary Unit 50.
