Mrs. Shirley Ann Munson, age 80 of Griffin, passed away on Thursday May 19, 2016 at Atlanta Medical Center. Mrs. Munson was born in Fayetteville, Ga. on May 10, 1936.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill McDade and Alma Betsill Cox; husband, J. L. Munson; son, Otis Norris Roberts; granddaughter, Shirley Nadine Knowles. Mrs. Munson loved flowers, birds, music, watching sunrises and sunsets, Dancing with the Stars, and soap operas. Above all, she loved the Lord and her family.
Survivors include her son, Hubert Webb and wife, Mary; daughter, Connie Knowles and husband, Tony; daughter, Kitty Black and husband, Frank; son, Johnny Mack Roberts, Jr. and wife, Dink; son, Robert “Smokey” Roberts; grandchildren, Marsha Mercer, Mitchell Webb, Michael Webb, Danny Knowles, Tony “Bo Bo” Knowles, Jr., Jessica Bennett, Julia Johnson, Franklin “Fatman” Black, Timothy Black, Jennifer Mitchell, Melissa Vance, Kimberly Martin, Amy Roberts, Valerie Roberts Jent, Kristy Roberts, Krissy Hamrick, Kaley Everson; 34 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Sheila Jesperson of California.
Visitation for Mrs. Shirley Ann Munson was Monday, May 23, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Gene Luke officiated. Interment was held in Griffin Memorial Gardens.
