Two students from Peeples Elementary are winners in the James Waldrop Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution American History Essay Contest.

Christian Boisen Burr and Moheb Veerani placed first and third, respectively, in the annual competition that encourages young people to think creatively about our nation’s great history and learn about history in a new light. A unique topic is chosen each year; this year it was the Stamp Act.

As the first-place winner, Christian’s essay will advance to the state competition.

Essays are judged for historical accuracy, adherence to topic, material organization, interest, originality, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and neatness.
