Ora Thomas Handy, formerly of Fayetteville

Ora Thomas Handy of Eastpoint, Fla., formerly of Fayetteville, Ga. and Lexington, Ky. died on February 17, 2016 in Port St. Joe, Fla.  

Born January 31, 1923 in Verdon, Ky., he was the son of the late Walter and Nancy Ellen Handy.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, stationed mainly in Brazil.

Funeral services were held on February 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Ga. with Reverend Jennifer Dunkin Jackson officiating. The family received friends on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Donna and Jim Dunkin and many devoted nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lucille Dorris Handy; their son Michael Lynn; brothers James Handy and Jesse Handy; and sisters Mary Elkin and Beatrice McAllister.

Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City handled the arrangements. Burial was at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City, Ga.
