This weekend’s lane closures

Georgia Department of Transportation projects to improve highway infrastructure throughout metro Atlanta continue this weekend, weather permitting. Construction on the  Downtown Connector and the  I-75 Express Lanes will require lane closures, which, in turn, are likely to result in delays. Motorists are advised to exercise caution by reducing speed while driving through work zones.

The traveling public is encouraged to call 511 or consult 511ga.org  before departing for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.

Planned work this weekend is as follows:

The Express Lanes project will require two lane closures on I-75 northbound between SR 280/Delk Road and Windy Hill Road nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

On I-75, two lanes will close between the I-285 interchange and Windy Hill Road from 10 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday;

Two lanes will close on I-75 northbound over I-285 from 10 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday;

Two lanes will close on I-75 northbound between Wade Green Road and SR 92/Alabama Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday;

One lane will close on Bells Ferry Road  under I-575 from 7 p.m., until 5 a.m., Sunday;

A flagging operation will take place on Bells Ferry Road under I-75 from 9:30 a.m., until 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday;

One lane  will close on the I-75 southbound on ramps to the Canton Connector and SR 280/ Delk Road from 9:30 a.m., until 4 p.m., Saturday;

Work on the South Metro Express Lanes will require a lane and shoulder closure on the I-75 southbound ramp at Jodeco Road from 11:30 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday;

Work on the South Metro Express Lanes will require a lane and shoulder closure on I-75 northbound between Jonesboro Road and Jodeco Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 p.m., Saturday;

On I-75, one southbound lane will close between the I-675 interchange and Hudson Bridge Road/ Eagles Landing Parkway continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

One northbound and one southbound lane will close on I-75 between SR 138 and Mt. Zion Boulevard continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for the northbound lane and 7 a.m., Monday for the southbound lane;

On I-75, one southbound lane will close between SR 155 and Jonesboro Road from 9 p.m., Sunday until 7 a.m., Monday;

Work on the South Metro Express Lanes will also require one lane closure on I-675 southbound between SR 42/US 23/ Macon Highway and the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

On I-285, two southbound lanes will close between SR 8/ US 278/Hollowell Parkway and the I-20 interchange from 8 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Sunday;

Guardrail repairs will require two eastbound lanes closures on SR 166/Langford Parkway and one westbound lane closure on SR 166/Langford Parkway at the I-75 interchange from 9 a.m., until 12 p.m., Saturday;

Rolling lane closures will take place on I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) northbound and southbound between University Avenue and the Brookwood Split nightly from 9 p.m., Thursday until 5 a.m., Monday;

Two lanes will close on the I-285 westbound ramp to I-85 northbound for concrete rehabilitation. Traffic will be detoured to the Pleasantdale Road exit and traffic will merge onto I-85 northbound. Law enforcement will be in the work zone on the Pleasantdale Road collector-distributer lane directing traffic as needed. The closure will take place from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

Sign structure work on I-75 will require one northbound and one southbound lane closure between SR 120 Loop/ South Marietta Parkway and SR 120 Loop/North Marietta Parkway from 6 a.m., until 5 p.m., Saturday;

Sign structure work will also require two eastbound lane closures on I-285 at the I-20 interchange from 8 p.m., Saturday until 12 p.m., Sunday;

On I-20, one eastbound lane and the shoulder will close between SR 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard and the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 p.m., Sunday; and finally

On I-20, two eastbound lanes will close between SR 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard from  10 p.m., Friday until 7 p.m., Sunday.
