Writing workshops at CCAC

Dr. Nancy Mims is presenting a workshop for adults, “Writing for Children,” scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, 9 a.m.-noon at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center in Classroom 1. The program includes a light breakfast and refreshments. The cost of the program is $20. For further information or registration, contact the Cultural Arts Center at 770-838-1083. Space is limited.

Dr. Maggie Mitchell, Associate Professor of English at the University of West Georgia, will present a presentation about her popular first novel “Pretty Is” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Cultural Arts Center in Classroom 4. The public is invited to attend. Dr. Mitchell will read from the novel, talk about the writing process, and answer questions from the audience. Afterward she will autograph copies of the novel. Copies are available at Underground Books or from Amazon.

The Creative Writers Club meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information phone 770-838-1083.
