It was a beautiful sunny day for the December wreath laying ceremony with the Peachtree City Falcon Field Composite Squadron GA116 and Wreaths Across America, honoring the fallen veterans at the Fayetteville City Cemetery last Saturday.

Seen here is Col. Raymond H. Willcocks (USAF, retired), member of American Legion Post 105 in Fayetteville, saluting one of the seven ceremonial wreaths with Peachtree City Civil Air Patrol cadet commander 2nd Lt. Mason Awbrey from Newnan.

Brigadier Gen. Rock Donahue (US Army, retired), executive director of Georgia Military College’s Fayetteville campus, delivered an inspiring speech in remembrance and honor of past, present and future U.S. military soldiers.

Members of the American Legion Post 105 along with Post 50 in Peachtree City, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3650 in Fayetteville, Veterans of Foreign Wars 9949 in Peachtree City, Marine Corps League Detachment 1325 in Fayetteville, Sons of the American Revolution Marquis de Lafayette Chapter in Fayetteville, assisted the cadets in laying wreaths on graves of veterans along with a ceremonial wreath dedication for honoring Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and POW/MIA. The pubic participated in the laying of the wreaths and learned about the importance of sacrifice, honor and duty of our men and women in the armed forces.
