A Snellville man has been charged by Fayetteville Police with rape and sexual battery in an incident that occurred in late 2014.
Pablo N. Nurques, 33, was charged with one count of rape and two counts of sexual battery, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Fayetteville Police spokesman Mike Whitlow said the incident involved a 20-year-old female resident of Fayette County who had been a coworker of Nurques at a retail store in Fayetteville.
Whitlow said the attack, which included Nurques grabbing the woman by her throat, occurred in November 2014 in the stock room of the store but was not reported until several months later.
Whitlow said Nurques ceased employment with the store during the month after the incident.
Nurques had been in the Gwinnett County Jail and has been transferred to the Fayette County Jail.
