Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is awarding more than $267,000 worth of life-saving equipment to 18 public safety organizations in the metro Atlanta area, totaling more than $1.2 million awarded in Georgia since 2005.

The Fayetteville Fire Department is to be one of the recipients at the presentation, scheduled for Nov. 12 in Marietta.

Granted equipment includes a tactical series robot (capable of performing bomb disposal, surveillance and reconnaissance), thermal imaging cameras (helps locate the fire source and victims), an interactive fire safety house, automated external defibrillators (provide life-saving assistance if a citizen goes into cardiac arrest), fire hose, vehicle extrication equipment (helps rescue and remove victims in motor vehicle accidents), tablet computers, and more.

In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has given more than $15 million to hometown heroes in 44 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $1.2 million in Georgia.
