Piedmont Newnan announces new board members

Four new members have been appointed to the Piedmont Newnan Hospital board of directors. Kay Crosby, M.D., Jarrod Huey, M.D., Andrew McDonald, M.D., and Jim Thomasson officially begin service this month.

“As well-known physicians and local community leaders, these individuals bring a unique set of skills and diverse perspectives to the table,” said Mike Robertson, CEO of Piedmont Newnan Hospital and chair of the Piedmont Newnan Hospital board of directors. “Undoubtedly, each is a great addition to our board.”

Kay Crosby, M.D., founded and currently serves as the chairman and medical director of the Coweta Samaritan Clinic. Prior to the clinic, she was a practicing physician in Coweta County for over 20 years at the PAPP Clinic. Dr. Crosby earned her degree from Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Emory University Hospital. In her career, Dr. Crosby was named to the Healthgrades Honor Roll and recognized as an 11 Alive Community Service Award recipient in 2014 for her work with the Coweta Samaritan Clinic.

Jarrod D. Huey, M.D., is the president and CEO of Concordia Anesthesiology, Inc., an anesthesia practice management company based in Atlanta. Dr. Huey received his education and training from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his residency at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board certified in anesthesiology and holds licensures in South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.

Andrew McDonald, M.D., is a board-certified primary care physician with Piedmont Physicians Group. He earned his degree from Medical College of Georgia’s School of Medicine. Dr. McDonald has been serving the Coweta community for 25 years and has been affiliated with Piedmont Newnan since June 1988. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. McDonald was in practice at the PAPP Clinic. His special interests include diabetes, hypertension and general internal medicine.

Jim Thomasson, is president at 75 Jackson LLC and currently serves as chairman of the board of The Heritage School in Newnan, Ga. He specializes in commercial real estate investment and management. A native of Coweta County, Thomasson earned his bachelor’s degree from Emory University. His father, Dr. Jimmy Thomasson, was a general surgeon at Piedmont Newnan, formerly known as Newnan Hospital, from 1967-1999.
