James Lewis “Jay” Jackson, Jr. passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010.

He was born on March 23, 1970. Jay was a 1988 graduate of Fayette County High School and a graduate of West Georgia University. He was employed by the Fulton County Board of Education as a special needs teacher. An avid golfer, Jay enjoyed playing golf with and being with his golfing buddies. He spent many hours making golf clubs for his friends. Jay was also a devoted father and husband.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Lewis “Jim” Jackson, Sr. and his mother Eleanor McElroy Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Susan Guice Jackson, daughters Virginia Madras Jackson and Elizabeth Dale Jackson of Fayetteville; sister Jan and Glenn Kolker of Atlanta; mother in law Dale Tyson of Fayetteville; also nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 6, 2010, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 11:00 AM with remains placed in state at 10:30 AM. Reverend Kristin Heiden will officiate. Internment will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Georgia Special Olympics, 4000 DeKalb Technology Parkway Suite 400, Building 400, Atlanta, GA 30340 .
