Charles (Chuck) E. Norviel, 86, of Peachtree City, passed away April 15 at Doctor’s Hospice in Fayetteville, Ga. He was born in Mattoon, Ill. on January 14, 1929.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John and Jessie Norviel and Vernon Norviel.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 66 years, that he married in Mattoon, Ill. on September 3, 1948, Shirley Lacy, and children: Carla and Bob Fisher of Broomfield, Colo.; Terri and Dwight Hartman of Peachtree City; and John and Tina Norviel of Sachse, Texas. Grandchildren include: Colette Hartman Reed and her husband Alex of Cumming; Rachel Hartman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Nancy and Stephen Norviel of Sachse, Texas. Great-grandchildren are Camille and Emmeline Reed of Cumming.
Chuck and Shirley lived in Denver during their working life and Chuck worked for B. K. Sweeney Co., a small manufacturer of specialized tools as their production control manager. They moved to Fairfield Bay, Ariz. after retirement in 1985, then to St. George, Utah and then settled in Peachtree City to be with and enjoy their granddaughters. He was a member of the Cannongate Golf Club and enjoyed the men’s group. He was a member of Evergreen Church and had been a member of the choir for many years.
Services will be at Evergreen Church on Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2015 at 5 p.m. with Dr. David Miller officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to Evergreen Church c/o choir fund.
