Odyssey Charter School and Coweta County 4-H are again partnering together for a fun, educational event — the 2nd Annual Southside STEAM Expo.

The expo will be held in the Coweta County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall and Agricultural Building on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“This year, we are both excited and honored that our STEAM Expo has been selected for inclusion in the Atlanta Science Festival,” said Odyssey Principal Andy Geeter.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

During the Southside STEAM Expo, students of all ages will be able to visit more than 30 exhibit booths and participate in hands-on activities related to STEAM subjects. For example, at the High Touch High Tech booth, they will be able to launch compressed-air paper rockets and they can fill cavities at the Coweta Dentistry Associates booth. At the University of West Georgia booths, they can enjoy the strongest snail competition or view the sun through solar telescopes.

And be sure to visit the Big Thinkers booth, where kids can make their own slime.

Several booths will have free giveaways and there will also be performances and presentations on the STEAM Expo stage. Big Thinkers Science Exploration will give a chilly dry ice presentation at 11 a.m. and Coweta STEM Institute will put on a Mad Scientist show at 2 p.m. Zoo Atlanta, Georgia Reptile Society and Cochran Mill Nature Center will have live animals to see and touch.

Admission is 5 per person and children 2 and under are free.
