Elizabeth J. Main, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on February 25, 2015 in Fayetteville, Ga.

Mrs. Main, of Peachtree City, Ga., was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Earl W. Main, and will be missed by her children, Susan and Gyuri Nemeth, David and Louise Main, and Jeffrey and Nancy Main. Mrs. Main also leaves seven grandchildren, Christy Smith, Bill Nemeth, Amy Allagnon, Suzanne Bennett, Katie Hautamaki, Laura Main, and Jenny Main. Her legacy lives on in her twelve great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Main was born in Washington, D.C., daughter of Dr. Edward R. Hunter and Lillie G. Hunter. She graduated from Fitken Memorial Nursing School in N.J. as a registered nurse. Mrs. Main worked at the former Riverview Hospital in Red Bank, N.J. She spent many years on the governing board of the International People-to-People Organization, founded several chapters of People-to-People in New Jersey, sponsored many international groups of visitors and arranged numerous travel opportunities to advance international peace and brotherhood. She was one of a group of People-to-People honorees recognized at the White House by President Richard M. Nixon. Through her work with People-to-People, Mrs. Main was privileged to meet, in addition to President Nixon, Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and President Harry S. Truman.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff and caregivers at Southland Health and Rehabilitation who have provided such loving care and concern for her. A memorial service will be held at a future date to celebrate Mrs. Mainís life.
