A new level of athletic competition is coming to Fayette County in late April.

FCA Endurance MultiSport Weekend provides 16 different athletic competitions based on three sports disciplines for adults and children of all ages and abilities.

More than 3,000 participants are expected to pedal, run, swim and/or paddle in the inaugural event April 24-26 in Peachtree City.

The MultiSport Weekend benefits FCA and FCA Endurance.

The 70:4 Triathlon is the centerpiece for MultiSport Weekend, providing certified, long-course competitions for individuals and for teams (relay).

Additional events offer a combination of running, cycling and aquatic sports disciplines for all levels of participants.

There are 13 events for adults and three for children. The total distance covered for the triathlon will be 70.4 miles, which include a 1.3-mile (1.9km) swim, a 56-mile (90 km) bike ride and a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run.

The Saturday competitions will coincide with a day-long festival.

The weekend’s activities will begin Friday with the athlete check-in and expo, and there will be a number of fellowship opportunities set for Sunday.

Complete information, including online registration and pricing can be found at www.enduranceweekend.com.

The event is also on Facebook and Twitter.
