Mr. Frank Everett Parrott, Sr. (8/23/1920-12/23/2014) of Fayetteville (formerly of Red Oak, Ga.)  Retired from Southern Bell on 12/31/83 after 43 years of service.  He was married to his now deceased wife, Mary Elizabeth Thames Parrott, for over 71 years. 

Everett was a member of North Fayette Methodist Church and prior to that an active elder, deacon, and board member of Red Oak Christian Church.  He was one of the founding members of the volunteer Red Oak Fire Department. 

He is survived by three children:  F. Everett Parrott, Jr. and wife Sheila of Gay, Ga.; Mary Lynn Parrott Thomason of Fayetteville, Ga.; and Stanley Thames Parrott and wife Sophia of Fayetteville, Ga.; grand-children:  Stephanie (Eric) Rose, Brian Thomason, Will (Betsy) Parrott, Traci Thomason, Julia (Jeremy) Callahan, and Jason (Brooke) Parrott; plus seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Parrott and wife Leslie; Caretaker/niece Debbie Stacks; numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was a veteran of World War II (served in Pacific Theatre of the Philippines and was awarded the bronze star), a perpetual member of Masonic Fairburn Lodge 180, member of the South Fulton Optimist Club, Telephone Pioneers Club,  a graduate of Woodrow Wilson College of Law, and a former real estate broker. 

He donated gallons of blood to the Red Cross and was a lifetime member.  His favorite hobbies were fishing, shooting pool, playing softball, and woodworking.  Everett was a devoted husband, a loving and caring father, was well respected by others, and always remembered his older brother Lawrence who passed away at the young age of 11. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11 o’clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. Dee Shelnutt officiating.  Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.  Those wishing may sign the online guestbook  at www.parrottfuneralhome.com.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory, 770-964-4800.
