FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — The Whitewater High School Wildcat Marching Band is calling on the community to come out and support its musicians this fall as the ensemble kicks off a season of home games, competitions and concerts.

The Whitewater Band Program serves more than 200 students and includes three levels of concert bands, the Wildcat Marching Band, the Jazz Catz, Whitewater Winter Guard and several chamber ensembles. The program has built a reputation for excellence, earning 17 Grand Championships over the past 10 years and three appearances as a Bands of America Regional Finalist, along with consistent Superior Ratings and caption awards at competitions across the region.

The standard of excellence in this program is built on the daily dedication of over 200 amazing young people. At its heart, live music is a gift meant to be shared, and nothing brings us greater pride than connecting with our community through our performances,” said Chad Reynolds, Director of Bands at Whitewater High School.

Whitewater students regularly earn spots in the GMEA District VI Honor Band and the Georgia All-State Band, and many perform with community ensembles throughout metro Atlanta. The program’s reach extends beyond Georgia as well — in April 2024, the Whitewater Band traveled to Spain for a six-day concert tour, performing in Madrid, Valencia, Granada and Toledo. Most recently, the Whitewater Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the 2027 Georgia Music Educators In-Service Conference on January 30 at the Classic Center Theatre in Athens.

“Whether we are performing halfway across the world in Spain or preparing for the state’s premier stage at GMEA, our goal is always to inspire. We invite everyone to come out to our games, competitions, and concerts this fall to see firsthand what these incredible young musicians are achieving.” Reynolds said.
