WBL (Work-Based Learning) Healthcare Explorers held their first meeting at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. During the 18-week program, these Coweta County high school students will be introduced to various healthcare and healthcare science-related career choices to help them decide if a health care career fits into their future. The students will learn about hyperbarics, surgical services, nursing, emergency medicine, sleep disorder treatment, emergency medicine, forensics, women’s services, diagnostic imaging and pharmacology, among other things. They are pictured with Piedmont Newnan Chief Operating Officer Nathan Nipper and Sandee Beard of Central Educational Center (CEC) on the left and Chief Nursing Officer Jason Smith on the right.
