John T. Bohan, Sr., age 77, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014. He was born on September 12, 1936 to Hazel Cordrey Bohan and Walter T. Bohan in Houlton, Maine.
He retired from Delta Airlines after 28 years of service. After retirement, he became a Peachtree City Crossing Guard for 5 years. John was a member to the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, the VFW, and the American Legion of Peachtree City.
He married his wife of 44 years, Joyce Kizzire Bohan on May 30, 1970 in Riverdale, Ga.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Cora G. Cox Bohan, father, Walter Bohan and step-mother, Irene Bohan of Bangor, Maine; mother, Hazel Anderson and step-father, Ellis Anderson of Riverdale, Ga.; brother, Robert W. Bohan of Peachtree City, Ga.; sisters, Jean Oliver of Soberton, Ga., and Charleen Pidgeon of Bangor, Maine.
He is survived by his children; Deborah Jean Massingale of Jonesboro, Ga., John Thomas Bohan II of Hapeville, Ga., Larry (Nancy) Rinicella of McDonough, Ga., Denise (Danny) Civils of Peachtree City, Ga., Angela (Ronald) Snyder of Acworth, Ga., Karen (Sandy) Tarpley of Newnan, Ga., and Lisa (Marcus) Holloway of Peachtree City, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his brother, Alton (Debbie) Anderson of Senoia, Ga.; and sister-in-law, Shirley Bohan of Florida.
A memorial service will be held at Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2 pm. A reception will follow at the church.
