Dan Allen Dorsey, 77, of Fayetteville, Ga. passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014.
He was born in Atlanta, Ga. on April 16, 1937 to the late John C. Dorsey and Mattie Kimbell Dorsey.
Dan was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whom will be truly missed by all. He was a Magician and Puppeteer who loved doing shows for kids. In fact, his first magic show was in his own backyard as a small child for other kids. As an adult, he was a member of the local chapters of the IBM Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians, and even served as president for both of them during his lifetime. He loved magic right up until the end. He was also an avid collector of historical memorabilia and facts, always having the right answer to so many history questions, as his grandchildren can tell you.
He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Jo Ann T. Dorsey; sons, Charles A. Dorsey and Michael E. Dorsey; daughter, Sandra L. Ostrander; grandchildren, Jeremy A. Dorsey, Dana Nicholson, Brittany N. Ostrander, Ashley E. Ostrander, and Aaron M. Ostrander; and brothers, William H. Dorsey and Johnny R. Dorsey.
A memorial service will be held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory in Peachtree City, Ga. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
