Honoring Courage, Preserving Memory: A Community Tribute to the Heroes of September 11

Peachtree City, GA (September 8, 2025) — On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Peachtree City invites the community to meet at Drake Field for the annual 9/11 Memorial Walk. This solemn event is dedicated to remembering the lives lost and honoring the heroic first responders who answered the call on one of the most defining days in our nation’s history.

Led by members of Peachtree City Fire-Rescue, the Memorial Walk spans approximately four miles around Lake Peachtree, creating a space for reflection, unity, and remembrance. In a tradition that underscores their commitment and sacrifice, members of Fire-Rescue will once again participate in full firefighting turnout gear.

“Each year, we walk side by side to remember the lives lost and to honor the heroes who ran toward danger when others sought safety,” said Mayor Kim Learnard. “This event allows us to reflect, to grieve, and most importantly—to unite as a community that will never forget.”
