Fayette Samaritans is asking the community to lend a hand this September by donating food, clothing, or time to help meet the needs of local families.

The nonprofit is currently seeking volunteers to assist in the office, clothes closet, and food pantry. Shifts are from 9 a.m. to noon, one day a week. Those interested in serving are encouraged to call the office for more information.

In addition, the pantry is in need of several essential items this month:

  • Canned chicken
  • Tuna
  • Dried beans
  • Pasta sauce
  • Oatmeal (single serving)
  • Grits (single serving)
  • Corn
  • Soup
  • Bar soap
  • Jelly
  • Feminine products

The Clothes Closet is also requesting socks for girls and boys, as well as undershirts for boys and men.

Donations may be dropped off at Fayette Samaritans, located at 126 Hickory Road in Fayetteville. For details, call 770-719-2707.

Founded in 1991, Fayette Samaritans has served thousands of neighbors with food, clothing, and financial assistance. The organization relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors to continue its mission of helping those in crisis.
