Coweta County Commissioner Bob Blackburn on Feb. 28 was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to the Ga. County and Municipal Probation Advisory Council (CMPAC).

Blackburn chairs the Coweta County Commission and owns a real estate sale and consulting firm. He holds a certified county commissioner designation from the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia.

The CMPAC mission is to ensure the provision of quality, ethical and professional misdemeanor probation service to the courts and citizens of Georgia through evaluation, education, and regulation.

Blackburn earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in finance, from Auburn University. He and his wife, Jenni, have two children. They reside in Newnan.

Blackburn was one of 26 Georgia residents appointed by Deal to various boards.
