Mrs. Virginia McLendon Humber, at age 89 of Fayetteville, Ga. went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 7, 2013.
Virginia Humber was born April 11, 1924 in Atlanta, Ga. She was a loving wife and dedicated mother. Her memory will be honored and treasured by family and friends. She is loved by so many because of how she touched our lives with the love of Jesus. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Thomas O. Humber and her mother Agnes Hardenstein.
She is survived by her children: Sherry H. Amos, Fayetteville; Pastor Terre and Susan Haas, Fayetteville; Dr. Thomas M. and Danielle Humber, Fayetteville; Jim and Sallie Anderson, Senoia and Brad and Jeena Humber, Fayetteville. She was richly blessed by the love of many grandchildren: Kent and Joanna McLelland, David and Lori Barentine, Jeremy and Leigh Coleman, Jonathan and Karah Haas, David and Melanie Haas, Bradley and Travis Humber, Christian, Chase and Savannah Humber and Tyler Anderson. She was also a great grandmother to Jacob, Rachel & Caleb McLelland, Breanna, Annaleigh and Cole Barentine, Gracie, Wyatt, Ava, Noah and Sophia Coleman and Luke, Bailey and Christian Haas.
During the last years of her life she was lovingly attended by her caregivers JoAnne Music, Marretia Sullivan, Darlene Chandler and Mickey Cox.
The family received friends at Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held at the North Campus of New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Terre Haas officiating 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Interment immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery.
