My name is Shayne Robinson and I have qualified to run for Post 2 in the upcoming elections.
My family and I have lived here for 14 years, and 13 of those years we have been actively involved in running the BMX track.
As a direct result of our hard work, the sport has grown from nine riders to over 300 that call PTCBMX their home track.
It is this passion and dedication for growing the sport of BMX for our community that has translated into a 7-year volunteer service on the Recreation and Special Events Advisory Board.
Currently serving my second year as chairperson, I have worked very closely with the city staff and our sports associations to ensure smooth transitions with the new policies and procedures introduced [in] 2012.
This position has also opened the door to working on the Conventions and Visitors Bureau on the Board of Directors. My experience on both of these boards has given me the opportunity to interface with staff and council on a vast array of issues relating to city government.
I feel that running for city council is a natural progression for me. Peachtree City has many challenges with more to come. I bring a balanced mindset to the table, and great experience in working on boards with the pertinent people to get the best accomplished for our city.
My goal is to make sure we continue to invest wisely in Peachtree City so that our children can be proud to have a place “to call home.”
I look forward to meeting you all out on the golf cart paths, at the track, or shopping. Please feel free to call me on my cell 678-770-1750 or email me at pinkbmxsox@aol.com with any questions or concerns you may have.
Thank you for your support.
