Emmie L. Pound, age 103, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 1, 2013.
A graduate of LaSalle University, Emmie became an assistant auditor with Atlanta Gas Light Company in 1941, later moving into accounting until her retirement in 1975.
She also served as president of the American Society of Women Accountants.
Emmie was an active member of Capital View Baptist Church in Atlanta, and after retirement became a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. She loved working in the youth ministry and taught both youth and adult Sunday School classes, and was a member of the women’s missionary society.
A funeral service was held on Tues. Sept. 3, 2013 at at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home. Reverend Glenn Stringham officiated. A graveside service will be held on Wed. Sept. 4, 2013 at 1:00p.m. at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park in Savannah Ga. Reverend Troy O. Douthit will officiate.
