Historic Holly Grove African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will hold its Homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 25, with morning and afternoon services.
The host pastor, the Rev. Dwight Elder, will preach at the 10:30 a.m. service.
The Rev. Antoni Sinkfield, Presiding Elder of East Nashville, Tenn., AME District, will preach at the 3 p.m. service.
Revival services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 26-28.
The revivalists are the Rev. Vaughn Mosley of Rock Temple AME Church in Conyers on Monday, the Rev. Raphael Allen of Turner Chapel AME Church in Atlanta on Tuesday, and the Rev. Terrence Evans of St. Paul AME Church in Dallas on Wednesday.
As one of the oldest churches in Peachtree City, Holly Grove was established in 1897 near the banks of Camp Creek in western Fayette County.
The church has survived several natural disasters and has been in its current location in Peachtree City, since 1980.
It is the only church in Fayette County to have a historical marker on its grounds.
Holly Grove AME Church is in Peachtree City at 400 Holly Grove Church Road, just off the south end of Robinson Road.
